Matt + Natalie | Engagement

From the very first time I met Natalie, I somehow knew she'd be in my life for a very long time. She's one of those people who makes you feel like you've known her forever from the very first time you meet her. I know the word "nice" is a seemingly cliché adjective, but I can honestly say that Natalie is the nicest person I know. Not only that, but she is an absolute blast to hang out with, she is real and down to earth, and she is the kind of friend you can call at 2 o'clock in the morning and she'd be there no questions asked. Oh, and she's absolutely gorgeous.

Then Natalie met Matt, and we immediately fell in love with him too. (I purposefully said "we" because Jordan and Matt probably hang out and talk on the phone more than Jordan and I do. Call it what you want, but I like to refer to it as a bromance.) I have never seen Natalie happier, and I am so glad these two found each other.

Matt owns a few bars downtown and we thought it would be fun to do some pictures at one of his bars, Fast Eddie's, for their engagement shoot. We started there and trekked all around downtown, and even managed to get a few shots with Natalie and Matt's dogs, Roxy and Presley (aka: Ted.) I love how the fun-loving nature of these two shines through their pictures. See for yourself!

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, these two are getting married in HAWAII! (Side note: friends who get married in tropical places score some serious bonus points in my book.) We are so thrilled to be a part of their big day in October!

Cameron + Lindsay

If you know my sister, you know there are not enough words to describe how amazing she is. I'm not even going to try because I'll undoubtedly fall short. And besides, I have to give a toast at her wedding in a few months so I'm saving up.

A couple years ago, Lindsay met Cameron. All I could think was, "This guy is a goof ball." But it didn't take long for me to realize that this goof ball not only adored my sister, but he challenged her, he made her laugh (like really laugh), and somehow they just fit together perfectly.

Lindsay and Cameron are getting married this summer at the lake, and they wanted a few engagement photos done up there this fall. Let me just preface this by telling you that my sister, who happens to work in the wedding industry, still hasn't quite grasped the role of being the bride and doesn't want anything to be cliché. Case and point, when I asked her what she was thinking for engagement photos she said, "I want them to be artsy, and I don't really want any with our faces in them." No pictures with your faces in them... got it. "Oh, and I don't want these posted anywhere." Mmmkay.

Lucky for you, I break rules. It took me a few months, but I finally convinced her to let me post their mini engagement shoot. Oh, and I even managed to get pictures of their faces. Imagine that. Check out some Flat 4 favorites of my beautiful sissy and soon-to-be brother-in-law!

Oh, and that adorable little dog in the middle of these two? That's Reece, my nephew. He's quite the poser.

Love you three so much!

Hare Family

Good couple friends are hard to come by. If you're in a couple yourself, you know what I'm talking about. To find a pair of humans of which Jordan and I both think are awesome, well, it's just not everyday you find something like that. We actually came up with a million dollar idea a couple months ago to start a quasi dating website, if you will, for couples to find other couple friends because if you think abut it, finding the perfect couple to be friends with is almost as hard as finding a husband or wife. While we're working out the kinks for our website -- CouplesMatch.com? ThePerfectPair.com? -- don't you dare go stealing our idea! Or, if you do, at least give us half of the profits.

I digress.

We have been lucky enough to share life with Cassie and Steve for the last few years. We adore these two and couldn't imagine our lives without them. Cassie and Steve recently because a family of three, adding Daxton to the family roster. We fell in love with this little guy from the first time we met him and were honored to capture some moments from his first week in the world.

Just as a side note, I have a ridiculously huge amount of respect for photographers who specialize in newborn/baby photography... IT. IS. SO. HARD. Luckily Cassie had some ideas of what she wanted (thank you, Pinterest) so we recreated some Christmas-themed shots since Dax was born in December, and then pretty much flew by the seat of our pants the rest of the time. With all that said, here are some Flat 4 favorites of Daxton and the Hare family!

Nicole

Sometimes I think I am a twin that was separated at birth. Okay, not really, but if that were true I am at least lucky enough to know my other missing half. Nicole and I met in college and have been close friends ever since. We are both Dutch, we both love bread (and food in general, for that matter), we both have an intense passion for travel, we both adore good writing and photography, we're both super sarcastic, we both think life is too short for a boring 9-to-5 job, and the list goes on and on. Seriously, soul sisters.

There are a few things you should know upfront about Nicole: 1) She's gorgeous. Like if-I-didn't-love-her-I'd-hate-her gorgeous. 2) Once she decides to do something, whatever that something is, it's going to kick ass. 3) No one does witty, smart humor better than she does. 4) Sister can write! There are very few things I love more than good photography, and one of those things is good writing. So when she decided to start her fashion/lifestyle blog, Teacups and B Cups, I knew it would be amazing. And it is.

Nicole wanted some shots done for her blog this fall, so we chugged some coffee, hit some favorite spots around town, laughed between chattering teeth, and made it happen despite the first snowfall on the ground. So without further ado, here are some Flat 4 favorites of Nicole!
